Ink cartridges
Ink cartridges are one of the most important components of inkjet printers. Unfortunately, if you haven’t been using your printer for a couple of weeks, the ink cartridges are likely to run dry. Here are some tips to care for your non-print head cartridges (This includes Epson, Brother and Canon).
- Avoid touching any of the electronic parts of the cartridge as doing so may damage your printer’s cartridge connection.
- If you do not intend to use your printer for a couple of days, store your ink cartridges in an airtight or zip-lock bag and store in a cool and dry place. This will prevent the ink cartridge from drying out.
- Do not expose cartridges to direct sunlight or heat.
- When putting in a new cartridge, do not apply too much pressure as you can damage the circuit board.
- To prevent an ink cartridge from drying, run a test print at the end of every week.
- Run a cleaning cycle after every once in a month for proper care and maintenance.
